DOCUMENT THE GOOD OLD DAYS BEFORE THEY’RE GONE
I often find myself yearning for more candid images from my own life. Most of what I have are posed smiles around the tree, awkward school pictures, and the occasional eye roll photos from a family trip my teenage self was not thrilled to be on, but what I wouldn’t give to see photos of me dancing in my childhood bedroom without the knowledge of a camera, or laughing with my brother, or hugging my friends so tight it hurts. These are the moments I want to remember, and whether its your wedding day or a fun lifestyle photoshoot, these are the moments you’ll want to remember too.
That’s why documentary photography is so important to me as a wedding photographer. I see myself less as an artist, and more as a documentarian there to capture the essence of a moment. My goal is always to make you feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera, and one of the ways I do that is by making it feel like I'm not even there.
When I say we’re gonna be friends I think it is important for you to know what type of friend I’m going to be. I want to be the friend that you feel comfortable sitting in silence with for hours on end while you both do your own thing, because that is when the authentic magic of being human happens. You don’t have to pretend to be anyone else when
you’re around me, who you are is more than enough, and I’m here to show you that through honest images.
