One of the first things I say to my clients before we start things is “I like to capture you doing your thing, so just pretend like I’m not here” but usually it takes my clients a few moments to get used to this candid approach to photography. But not these folks. I’ve never seen people so comfortable just being a family together. Playing, laughing and really soaking up every moment with their twins.
I have had the honor of knowing Julia and Colin as a tribe of two for a few years and it is such a special thing to witness them in this new stage of life, so truly happy. These folks were made to have a family and it is so humbling to witness that true connection that they have with one another.
Take a look around this lovely overcast day at a spot that is so special to me and the Shields-Chrestay family because we both got married here! At different times obviously, but being at Awbury Arboretum fills me with so many good feelings as I’m sure it did for them. They now have memories of them celebrating their love with friends and family on that beautiful wrap around porch, as well as memories running after some quick one year-olds on that very same porch. Your photo session doesn’t have to be seeped in as much meaning as this one is, but it really makes it a special experience for everyone when there is a little touch of nostalgia.
I’m your friendly neighborhood photographer here to capture all your intimate moments! Whether you're planning an elopement, family session, or lifestyle photoshoot, I would love to work with you! Check out my services for more information.
