Kristen & Alex’s Secret Maternity Shoot

I love being in on secrets. 

Which is why Kristen and Alex’s maternity shoot was extra special. These cuties hired me before they told anyone they were pregnant, and I loved being in on the big secret! Ah…nothing like the confidence between a man, a woman, and their maternity session photographer…

But now the cat is out of the bag, and I can tell you all about this couple’s birth announcement photoshoot! Kristen is all about body positivity and she really wanted to use photography to celebrate her body as it changes over the next few months, from barely showing to baby bump. Not to mention that Kristen and Alex hadn’t had any professional photos of them taken since their wedding! 

I love that this couple opted to get maternity photos in the first trimester, before that baby bump made its grand entrance. A lot of couples think they have to wait to a certain level of “showing” to get maternity photos, but these sessions aren’t just for showing off a bump. It is about celebrating the love and excitement that comes with a baby, and whether you are in your first or third trimester, adopting, or pursuing surrogacy, that joy will shine in the final product.
