If you’re looking for a creative indoor-outdoor wedding venue in Philly, check out the MAAS Building. This venue has a walled garden, charming historic features, and all the room you need for a great dance party. Gabi and Tim’s wedding was a great example of what’s possible at this venue.
In this blog post, you’ll find
The MAAS Building is such a cool Philly wedding venue. It has everything you need to have your whole wedding day in one place if you want. There are five spaces available:
The MAAS Building has so much space because it was built as a brewery in the 1850s. Eventually, it was boarded up and more or less abandoned. In the early 2000s, a couple renovated it and opened it as a venue and studio space. Having a MAAS wedding gives you a chance to be part of that community and creativity.
Gabi and Tim’s wedding was so much fun to document. They are just the sweetest people. You can see in these photos how their community is drawn together by their warmth. People hugged, smiled, and laughed from getting ready all the way to the end of the reception.
Before their wedding, Gabi and Tim moved from Philly to Washington, D.C. Their MAAS Building wedding was like a homecoming. They got to celebrate the city where they fell in love.
You can see that love for Philly in some of the fun touches to their decor. Instead of the usual table numbers, Gabi and Time used cards from James Boyle and Gina Tomaine’s Philly Tarot Deck. Guests loved the local references and creativity.
Gabi and Tim’s guests really tore up the dance floor. Everyone got into horah. The direct flash photos of Gabi and Tim dancing in a circle with their friends are some of my favorite moments from the night. You get a great sense of the night’s energy.

This photography of this MAAS Building wedding is really representative of my style and approach. I know how to read a room and anticipate when a great moment is going to happen. That’s why I photograph so many hugs and candid laughter!
One reason I’m able to do this is because I’m a calm presence. I can put you at ease so you can focus on the fun, emotional experience of being really present on your wedding day. Yes, we’ll get those family photos, but for the most part, I focus on the authentic moments as they happen.
